The desktop displays on the left side a list with the names of the tables in the filelist of the current workspace. The screen is divided into the following areas: the title/caption bar (showing the name of the workspace and optional the name of the table that is being used), menu bar, tool bar, the list of tables on the left and a tab dialog with various table information to the right, and finally the status bar. At startup, the tree will be automatically filled with all the tables from the current filelist. The tab dialog, on the right side, however, is not populated until you select a table in the list of tables
The menus provide organized access to all of the capabilities of the Database Explorer
The toolbars are organized into eight separate toolbars containing many options. Users are able to configure the visibility and position of each toolbar.
On the left side of the Database Explorer desktop you will find a tree view that shows the list of tables from the current filelist of the current workspace.
On the right side of the Database Explorer desktop you will find a tab dialog. This is, together with the list of tables, called the interface. The tab dialog shows table information from the currently opened table. This will be the data itself, the indexes, the column information, the used DDO’s plus filters and the table attributes.
The Status Bar relays information about the current filelist, the constrained records, the edit mode and status help. It does this through 13 panes (recessed text and pictures) of information.
Keyboard shortcuts are available throughout Database Explorer. Refer to the Database Explorer hotkeys for more details
