DataFlex comes with an Error Maintenance utility, which can be launched from the DataFlex Studio by choosing Error Maintenance from the Tools pulldown menu.
The Error Maintenance utility displays error messages that are kept in several tables. The tables are named flexerrs.dat (stores Operating System and User errors), dferr001.dat (stores System errors), dferr002.dat (stores Utility errors), dferr003.dat (stores generic DBMS driver errors). Depending on which database drivers you have installed, there may be additional error message tables (dferr004.dat, dferr005.dat, etc.) on your system. These tables are stored in the Usr subfolder beneath the folder where you installed DataFlex.
In the Error Maintenance Utility, all available error messages can be viewed and those in the 1-4096 range (in flexerrs.dat table) can be edited. We do not suggest editing existing error messages numbers or messages, but this utility can be used to add your own error messages to the existing ones.
In order to edit the available data files for a specific workspace, copy the tables listed above to the Data subfolder of your workspace, then use the Error Maintenance utility to edit the errors.
